Why has Salman’s yankee accent disappeared?
Salman Khan remains Salman Khan when it comes to his acting in most of his films is what his critics keep complaining about… be it his yankee accent or erratic attitude. These comments have definitely lessened post the success of ‘Wanted’. However Sallu seems to have taken this accusation way too seriously as he will not only be sporting a different look but also flaunt an all new attitude in his forthcoming film Dabang.Dabang is Salman’s brother Arbaaz’s first production which stars Sonakshi Sinha (Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter), Salman Khan and Arbaaz Khan in the lead roles. The film is being directed by debutant director Abhinav Sinha and will see Salman Khan in a completely new light.Dabang itself means a fearless cop so no prizes there to guess what role will Salman play in this film.
Brother Sohail has revealed that the film will see Salman in a very loud character. “He plays a corrupt police officer based in the north who loves to mouth loud dialogues in northern accent. For the first time he will play a negative role. He has never played such a role before” said Sohail.Renowned fashion designer Ashley Rebello who has designed outfits for Salman in this film revealed, “Salman will sport an altogether different look in Dabang. He plays a cop but is dressed in civilian clothing most of the time. Salman is clad in simple clothes throughout the film. Trousers, shirts and no much of body or bicep show from the superstar. He won’t look fashionable as he always does. It’s no where close to Wanted or even Garv.
Arbaaz on the contrary will sport Indian kurtas while Sonakshi Sinha will wear Indian saris, ghagra cholis and lot of Indian outfits.”It would definitely be a welcome change to Salman’s fans for getting to see Sallu like never before.Question: Do you think Salman Khan looks and acts the same in all his movies? Salman-Aishwarya love story on reel now
Small-time filmmaker Javed Khan is all set to make a film that is said to be based on one of the most talked about love stories in Bollywood — that of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. The film titled Ajab Hai Ishq is gearing up to go on the floors soon. Javed Khan, who is producing the film and also playing the lead role of Salman Khan in the film, says, “If a love story is depicted authentically and emotionally, the film will surely attract the audience.
Ajab Hai Ishq is a love triangle. The story resembles the real life story of Ash and Sallu.”In real life, the two actors may have gone their separate ways, but Javed will show a different version. “I want to send home the message that if you love someone, you should get married to her or him. Leaving your loved one in the lurch will not bring peace in your life.”
Interestingly, singer Salamat, who recorded the title track of the film recently, had earlier sung the emotional number Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam from the Salman-Ash film by the same name.
Salman-Asin resorting to cheap publicity?
Somebody might have opened the Pandora’s box as the release date of London Dreams drew near. All sorts of gossips varying from Salman Khan’s close relationship with his co-star Asin Thottumkal to their big fight filled the newspaper entertainment columns and websites.Do you think the lead pair is resorting to cheap publicity? Who knows, because they neither complained nor cared to clarify the gossips.
Yes, they say ‘no publicity is bad publicity.’ Asin, being relatively a novice in Bollywood though a big name down South, seemed to be disturbed by all the gossips. But Salman handles it differently. He keeps mum on all the issues – be it his relationship with Asin or the alleged ‘fight’. He knows it would create more hype around the film and thus pave the way for a good opening.
Well, the much-hyped film London Dreams, starring Ajay Devgn besides Salman and Asin, releases today. Let’s wait and watch whether it’s worth the hype!
Salman Khan ‘Most Wanted’ with Nayanthara?
Salman Khan is obviously elated with the success of his latest release ‘Wanted’ and he has still more reasons to smile. The producer Boney Kapoor is so excited after the success of the film that he has decided to make its sequel aptly titled ‘Most Wanted’.
Boney wanted to re-create the magic with the same star cast, but director Prabhu Deva suggested that they change the female lead and rope in the south siren Nayanthara instead of Ayesha Takia.
Interestingly, Prabhu Deva’s affair with the actress is painting the gossip columns red down south. In fact, just a few weeks back, Prabhu’s wife had come out all guns blazing at Nayan in an interview to a local daily there warning Nayanthara to keep away from her husband.
So, this suggestion from the director suggests a tint of truth in the rumors. Whatever may be the case, we would definitely like to see our Sallu Bhai romancing the sexy siren from the south.
Star Siblings brighten up Sanjana Jon’s show
It was a touching moment when Sanjana Jon, the sister of jailed fashion designer Anand Jon, broke down during the show organized by her at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week. The show was a tribute to her brother, who has been sentenced to 59 years in prison.
The showstoppers for Sanjana Jon’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection show at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion week were brother duo Salman Khan and Sohail Khan, sister duo Raima and Riya Sen, and brother-sister duo Sushmita Sen and Rajiv Sen. Sarod maestro Aman Ali Khan and Ayan Ali Khan also showcased the creation by the designer.
Main Aurr Mrs Khanna lacks passion and energy
Main Aurr Mrs Khanna’ falls in category of those movies, which despite of great star cast and huge publicity fails to deliver what it promises, entertainment. Even presence of Bollywood hottie Kareena Kapoor and Bollywood hunk Salman Khan couldn’t hold interest in the movie. The movie is based on the theme of martial problem where a husband after losing his jobs asks his wife to leave so that he go and find work in distant shores.
Samir Khanna (Salman) asks his wife, Raina (Kareena), to go back to Dalhousie when he fails to find re-employment in Melbourne.Samir goes to work in Singapore meanwhile Raina decides to stay back in Melbourne. With the help of friends, she is able get a job and a house. For the sake of visa, she pretends to marry the friendly bartender, Akash (Sohail Khan). As usual bartender falls in love with Mrs. Khanna but Raina’s loyalties still lies with her husband.
Drama ensues when Samir finds his wife living in this complicated situation. The movie is devoid of passion despite been presence of feisty actors like Salman Khan and Sohail Khan. Even Kareena fails to spark life in character of Mrs. Khanna.
Showdown on the sets of Salman’s Veer
Director Anil Sharma is living a nightmare. The director is having trouble since he started shooting for Salman Khan starrerVeer The trouble began when Anil wanted to shoot a scene in a particular way while Salman had a different opinion on that matter. They had a huge argument over this. The nexttimewhen Anil came on the sets, he saw that the action director, Tinu Verma, had already started shooting the scenes.
When Anil asked him to let him see the rehearsals and scenes that had been filmed, Tinu asked him to wait, since he was in between a shot.Anil lost his temper and so did Tinu and they fought as badly as Anil and Salman had.Anil and Salman haven’t gotten along well ever since Anil wasted time during the London schedule of Veer where, if he had been better prepared, he could’ve saved the budget from rising.
Tinu has confirmed the argument that took place between him and Anil but Anil doesn’t seem to be very affected by this. He has passed it off as a light disagreement.
Salman hires a chopper for Kareena
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan made special arrangements for a chopper for his co-star Kareena Kapoor while shooting for Main Aurr Mrs Khanna when he found that the actress was running late for her next shoot. Directed by debutant Prem Soni, the film revolves around the theme of an extramarital affair and is a joint venture between Sohail Khan Productions and UTV SpotBoy Pictures.
“When anybody is a part of Sohail Khan Productions, Salman Khan takes full care of the actor. The artiste is under his wings… Kareena had to reach another important shoot that day but did not know what to do,” said a source from the production unit. “Salman instantly made arrangements for a chopper for her.
It was thanks to his timely arrangement that Kareena could make it on time for the other shoot,” the source added.Releasing October 16, the movie also stars Sohail Khan.
Salman referred to as Shahrukh!
This perhaps can be the worst possible case of mistaken identity for Bollywood actor Salman Khan when someone referred to him as Shahrukh. Salman who is busy promoting his movie Wanted could only manage a laugh when he was referred to by his arch rival’s name. The incident happened when Salman visited the Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai to spend time with children suffering from cancer.
A junior doctor who was addressing the event mistook Salman for Shahrukh and said “May I please request Dr SD to give Shahrukh a bouquet.” The entire gathering lay stunned at this with the senior management at the hospital feeling embarrassed.
Salman laughed off the incident and said that he was happy that the doctor was concerned with his work and nothing else in life.
Salman doesn’t like Katrina wear small skirt
You may wonder what has gone wrong with Salman Khan when he said that he doesn’t watch his girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s films. In fact, his feedback would be invaluable but he has his own reason for shying away from her films. The reason is – he doesn’t like to see her wearing sexy and small skirt. Salman admitted that he doesn’t watch Katrina’s film. But why? He said that he once watched her film and she was wearing a small skirt, which he didn’t quite like.
Meanwhile, he is aware that he has to let it go sometimes. He is left with no option but to keep away from such films. He added that he could make out the genre of her film from the promos and stay away if necessary. The reports that Salman was guiding Katrina was right as he admitted that he did help her initially. However, he said that he doesn’t interfere in her work anymore, as she’s grown up and has good scene of choice.
Salman said that Katrina used to ask him to check out a couple of her scenes due her problem with dubbing but he has stopped it now, as he doesn’t want to be labelled as an aggressive boyfriend who barges into his girlfriend’s sets.
Salman to take on SRK in the field
After taking on Shahrukh Khan on the screen and off it Bollywood hunk Salman Khan is also set to take his arch rival on the cricket field. Salman has shown interest in owning a team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The actor apparently met Lalit Modi the chairman and commissioner of the IPL to discuss the possibility of buying one of the two new teams which will be added to the tournament from the 2011 season.
Salman has been toying with the idea of owing a team ever since he saw fellow celebrities Preity Zinta, Juhi Chawla and Shilpa Shetty apart from SRK being associated with India’s cricketing extravaganza. Although the names of the cities haven’t been finalised by the IPL body, cities like Ahmedabad, Nagpur and Vishakhaptanam are being discussed. Apart from Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Sanjay Dutt are also reportedly interested in owning IPL teams.
But is not going to be easy for Salman to own a team as some of India’s leading corporates will take part in the auction will take place in January 2010. Markets analysts believe each of the two teams could sell for as much as Rs. 1000 Crores. It remains to be seen if Salman alone goes for a team or ties up with other Bollywood celebrities to own a team. The Bollywood war though will be fought on a different battle ground.
Salman-Shahid patch up!
They say it’s never too late and our two actors might have just realised that. After a bitter fallout during the Rockstars concert in 2006, Salman Khan and Shahid Kapoor had been avoiding each other like the plague. It so happened that Salman was not getting his steps right and Shahid offered to help him out. Apparently Salman didn’t like this young actor’s interference and asked him to leave him alone.
Salman even opted out of Satish Kaushik’s long awaited film, Shahid-starrer Milenge Milenge, wherein he was supposed to do a cameo. But guess what we hear now? Shahid has agreed to be part of Salman Khan’s popular show 10 Ka Dum where he will be promoting his forthcoming film Dil Bole Hadippa with co-star Rani Mukerji.
Seems like Shahid is indeed basking in the glory of his successful career and has forgotten the episode whole heartedly. Salman too has been gracious enough to invite them on his show.
Is London Dreams a copy?
Milos Forman directed Amadeus revolves Austrian musicians Salieri and Mozart. Salieri is immensely jealous of Mozart’s talent. He thinks his own music is pure and Mozart’s compositions are outlandish. He tries to thwart Mozart’s musical attempts and even gets his hands on Mozart’s original work through his wife and passes it off as his own. In the end, his envy gets the better of him and he murders Mozart. London Dreams, shot extensively in London, Paris and Punjab is the story of two childhood friends, played by Ajay and Salman who want to be rock stars. So they grow up and fulfill their dreams and both of them fall in love with Asin, the dancer of their band which is called London Dreams.
It is about the rivalry between them and also about who finally gets the girl. If London Dreams is a contemporary adaptation of Amadeus then, Ajay Devgan will play Salieri whose music is pure, Salman will play the outlandish Mozart and Asin will play Salman’s love interest. Shaka Laka Boom Boom starring Bobby Deol, Upen Patel, Celina Jaitley and Kangna Ranaut, was an awfully made take on Amadeus. When contacted, Vipul Shah said, “London Dreams is not similar to any film. It is an original piece of work. Why does everybody have to doubt an Indian filmmaker?
Just because it is about two guys who are in the world of music, so it becomes like some other film?” Let’s just wait for his dreams to unfold. London Dreams releases on October 30, 2009.
Salman again takes a dig at Shahrukh
Bollywood biggest Cold War needs just small sparks for new flares. Both Shahrukh and Salman miss no chance of taking a dig at each other. Just when the entire Bollywood stayed shocked to Shahrukh Khan’s detention at the Newark International Airport Salman said there was no big deal about it. Salman said that it was a normal security procedure and he had faced it several times in his life. He added that the security measure was actually a very Good thing.
Salman also said that if the detention was considered necessary by US Customs and Border Protection anybody flying to the United States must cooperate with their authorities. Trying to prove his point Salman stressed on the fact that there had been no major attacks since 9/11 because of the stringent security measures adopted in US.
Comeon Salman there are better occasions to take a dig as the question here is not Shahrukh along but all Indians flying to US.
Salman Khan still gets beaten up by mom
Salman Khan has often made headlines for getting into verbal and physical fights, but very few known that the 43-year-old Bollywood star still gets beaten up by his mother Salma.“As a child, Salman was very naughty He used to get the most beating…still does,” Salma told choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan on her soon-to-be-launched celebrity chat show “Tere Mere Beach Mein” going on air on STAR Plus Sunday.
When Farah asked “Is it just a pat?, Salman, who was the first celebrity guest for the show, said: “Are you mad or what? It comes as such a phatak (tight slap)…I reel under its heavy impact and wonder where it came from! I tell her that how can you beat me mamma, I’m a grown up man now. Some of the actor’s best kept secrets were also unravelled on the show. For instance, she revealed that she still stays up waiting for him at the window till he returns home. Salma said that all her kids tease her for this habit.
“They say that the building doesn’t need a watchman with me keeping guard all night,” she said.
Football connects Salman and Ranbir
Salman Khan has definitely found a new friend in Ranbir Kapoor. The hunks got along well, while shooting for their films Veer and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, respectively at Mehboob Studios, apparently they didn’t just have a casual chat over lunch. Sources have it that Salman invited Ranbir to join him for a football match this Independence Day while they were chatting at Mehboob Studio.
Ranbir, who is a huge football fan, is obviously very excited. The actor who plans to spend the day playing football with his friends has also asked younger brothers, Arbaaz and Sohail to invite their friends.Expected to join the Khans are Ranbir, Dino Morea, Ashish Chaudhary, Vatsal Seth and music directors Sajid-Wajid. Many more people are expected to join the list.
The venue of the match is still unknown but according to sources, it will be held at one of the Bandra grounds.
