Hydrophobic Ranbir Kapoor went underwater

Not lots of people know that Ranbir Kapoor has hydrophobia. And his phobia of water came to haunt him during a current shoot for a dream adventure game for a cola brand. Ranbir had to stay underwater for about four hours for the shoot and was quite nervous to begin with. However, it was actor Sanjay Dutt who came to Ranbir’s rescue. Even Sanjay was part of the same shoot.

A source present on the sets says, “Ranbir chose to perform his own stunts without a body double. In spite of having hydrophobia, he went ahead and shot for the four-hour underwater sequence himself.”  The source adds, “Sanjay Dutt had already done underwater stunts effectively in films like Blue.So Ranbir Kapoor decided to take his guidance to overcome his phobia.

Sanjay went through the entire drill of pulling off an underwater stunt with Ranbir and that really gave him a lot of assurance. Now, he has said goodbye to his fear forever

Ranbir Kapoor loses his temper over Deepika

All eyes were on Ranbir Kapoor when he entered Bollywood through Saawariya. The film flopped but his popularity didn’t fall. He was even dubbed cool-headed for being so cool about his relationship with fellow actor Deepika Padukone. But he seems to have run short of patience after their break-up story hit the headlines hard.

Yes, the over-intrusive media seems to have disappointed Ranbir. As if spreading the news of the break-up story is not enough, rumourmongers went on to spread his bid to get ex-girlfriend Deepika back. He recently lost his temper after being repeated asked about his relationship.

Ranbir said that the people are interested in his work and not his personal life. He clarified once and for all that he has not spoken anything about his relationship and would not do so.

After her much publicised break-up with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika hasn’t spoken about their relationship publicly. Recently, the actress was present at the launch of Neutrogena Fine Fairness’ at Grand Hyatt Mumbai when media persons seized the opportunity to assail with lot of questions connected to Ranbir Kapoor and her breakup.

Deepika was asked about her plans with the RK tattoo on her back but the actress chose to remain silent on issue. Another question that followed was, “Is the brand coming out with a cream that will erase your tattoo?” At this stage Deepika started fidgeting and fuming with anger but she still let her silence do the talking.

The actress however erupted when a journalist asked her “Are you happy after your break-up with Ranbir?”. An fuming Deepika replied “Of course, I am happy. Don’t I look happy?” The press meet came to an end shortly as Deepika wasn’t interested answering any more questions. Deepika quickly made an exit through the backstage.

Deepika Padukone cutting off ties with Ranbir?

Once bitten, twice shy. It seems actress Deepika Padukone is determined to keep a distance from her ex beau Ranbir Kapoor since they broke up recently. And now, she is cutting off all ties with him including professional life.The grapevine is abuzz with the news that a popular filmmaker approached Deepika to act in his film.

However, she turned down the offer simply because he was planning to cast her ex beau Ranbir in the lead role.It is said that Deepika has turned a workaholic after parting ways with Ranbir. She used to divide time between her acting career and her boyfriend when she was seeing him but now, the story has changed. She is now giving her everything to films.

Imran Khan takes a cue from Ranbir

After the heartbreaking failure of Kidnap and Luck – it was as if somebody had kidnapped his luck – Imran Khan has finally decided to take charge of his career. According to sources, instead of ‘different’ films, Imran will now stick to commercial films. The inspiration for this new strategy is good friend-cum-profession rival Ranbir Kapoor.

Imran, we hear, wants to do romantic comedies with popular heroines and famous banners.He recently turned down Dibakar Banerjee’s Abhay Deol- starrer since that was experimental cinema.Kunal Kohli also offered him a film but since the director was a newbie – Danish Khan – Imran refused.

He is currently is shooting for Karan Johar’s I Hate Love Stories with Sonam Kapoor. The boy wants it to release before his experimental venture Delhi Belly produced by uncle Aamir Khan.

Ranbir Kapoor’s new girls fight it out

Well, on the one hand there’s this young debutant Shazahn Padamsee who claims to be great friend of the Kapoor boy and is cast opposite him in YRF’s next Rocket Singh – Salesman Of The Year. And on the other hand, there’s model turned actress Gauhar Khan who’s finally bagged a big role for herself who claims it’s her the audience will remember after watching Rocket Singh. Just the other day, at the wrap up party of the film, the air around the two ladies was sub-zero. Made me want to go back and get my mink coat. (Oh my! Is it illegal these days?). However, after catching a terrible cold post that, Juicy Mausi just couldn’t resist doing a little snoopin’ around. And guess what all people said.

A little birdie who kept hovering around the unit during the making of the film told me that Shazahn was more of show off than anything else. Apparently she has been doing all it takes to publicise herself. She had started talking about her acting and dancing classes and all of that when she had only shot for four days. She even went around saying that she had nothing to do with Gauhar. She hasn’t shot with Gauhar (they have, actually, ONCE). And that she has only shot with Ranbir who happens to be a great friend.Also, Shazahn apparently was heard saying that though she has only shot for four days as opposed to the four months of Gauhar, it is the quality of work and the character that defines who the female lead inthe film is.

Not too tactful, huh? Me thinks these young ones have to grow up so much! I mean, just see the way Gauhar handled the entire situation. My friend, the little birdie, went to ask her about all that was going on. The Khan girl said that she definitely has not interacted with Padamsee on a ’social’ level. (How about anti-social level? One wonders…). And about who’s playing the lead, Gauhar was heard saying that though Shazahn is cast opposite Ranbir, she did not think she could be called the ‘lead’. In fact the ‘lead’ should be the one who leaves an impression on the audience. And well, she very diplomatically left it to the audience to decide.

WOW. Wonder what Ranbir boy was doing between the two women. Probably enjoying the fireworks, eh?

Ranbir and Deepika in trying waters again

The fights and arguments between the most talked about youngest couple of B-Land, Ranbir and Deepika is in air again. The last was on Sunday night, after which Ranbir left for the Rajneeti outdoor in Bhopal. Sources say they have been fighting last week as well and Deepika almost didn’t come for Karan Johar’s fashion show. The couple was together at the event though, but the undercurrent of stress was obvious to everyone.

Sources close to the couple say that they are currently not on speaking terms. An insider says, “Everyone knows that Neetu never really approved of Deepika for her son even though Ranbir tried and succeeded, to a large extent, to make his mom thaw towards his girl.”In spite of being totally committed to the relationship, Deepika feels Ranbir is not making a commitment to her and perhaps waiting for the green signal from his mom. On the other hand, Ranbir feels that he is too young to get engaged.

A friend of the actress says, “They are together. Fights happen in every relationship. This is the eighth time that everyone’s convinced they are heading for a split. But it’s all
fine. They’ve patched up.”Everyone around them is wondering if this is the beginning of the end.

Ranbir Kapoor in a pool with girls!

More than a dozen girls surrounded Ranbir Kapoor inside a pool as the handsome actor splashed water and danced to the remix version of the title song from his upcoming film Wake Up Sid.The actor wasn’t flirting around in Deepika’s absence but was shooting for a song of the film directed by Ayan Mukherjee. Ironically, shooting the song in a pool with girls wasn’t fun for Ranbir because, believe it or not, he has a phobia of water.

The star is afraid of going anywhere close to swimming pools or big water bodies like lakes, rivers or seas.Ayan is quoted as saying, “Ranbir was scared of jumping into the water and he feels breathless when he’s in the pool.”The scene required Ranbir to jump into a pool with a group of young girls and dance.The song was Wake Up Sid Club mix and he had to shoot in the neck-deep water. But a good actor that Ranbir is, he never let it show that he was afraid of water.

Moreover, Ranbir had little time to relax because he had to finish the song’s shoot in a tight schedule before leaving for Bhopal to shoot for Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti.

Football connects Salman and Ranbir

Salman Khan has definitely found a new friend in Ranbir Kapoor. The hunks got along well, while shooting for their films Veer and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, respectively at Mehboob Studios, apparently they didn’t just have a casual chat over lunch. Sources have it that Salman invited Ranbir to join him for a football match this Independence Day while they were chatting at Mehboob Studio.

Ranbir, who is a huge football fan, is obviously very excited.The actor who plans to spend the day playing football with his friends has also asked younger brothers, Arbaaz and Sohail to invite their friends.Expected to join the Khans are Ranbir, Dino Morea, Ashish Chaudhary, Vatsal Seth and music directors Sajid-Wajid. Many more people are expected to join the list.

The venue of the match is still unknown but according to sources, it will be held at one of the Bandra grounds.

New actors facing publicity problems

Communication skills are entirely lacking in the generation that has now come in. Publicists are employed tdo fix up appointments during the time of a film’s release. I don’t buy that. Why should we make ourselves available whenever a star needs or demands our presence? This may be suitable protocol for star-journalist relations in the West. It doesn’t work here. We Indians are too emotional to be professional about our entertainer. We love Jaya and Amitabh’s son and Kamal Haasan and Sarika’s daughter unconditionally.When Abhishek was to be launched I was part of the whole process. It wasn’t just the Bachchans. Even director JP Dutta was, and is, a close friend. The senior AB dialed my number and handed the phone to his son.I was the first to interview both Abhishek and Kareena.And they still remember it.

It doesn’t matter who first interviewed Ranbir, Imran or Sonam.They couldn’t care less. To them the media is a necessary evil, to be avoided as much as possible.To be borne otherwise. Ironically, most of these production houses that dig seeing bathing nymphs emerge from the waters don’t have women-folk from their own family working in the entertainment industry.I mean, have you heard of any girl from Yash Chopra’s clan being in the film business?

Isn’t it strange, male actors’ sons head for their father’s profession when they are barely into puberty, but who has heard of Sunil Dutt, Manoj Kumar, Dharmendra or Rajendra Kumar’s daughters choosing to become actors? Maybe these girls just didn’t want a film career. Or maybe their fathers had seen too many of their heroines emerge from the pool dripping for the salivating masses.

Deepika and Ranbir on phone chat

That’s what Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor seem to be saying these days.Apparently, there have been talks about the two talking for hours on the phone when they’re not together. Now, we know most lovebirds do that, but Deepika doesn’t take the ‘accusation’ too kindly. She says it mars her ‘professional image.“I am committed to my films once I sign them and I am professional when it comes to my work.

Stories of me talking to Ranbir on the phone for hours together when we are not working together are not true. I don’t get distracted by Ranbir once I am on the sets of my film and vice versa. Both Ranbir and I are professionals and know our responsibilities,” said the miffed actor. But talking on the phone is a symbol of love aaj kal, Deeps.
