Salman’s bro insults Vivek in public
Here’s how Sohail Khan decided to stand up for big brother Salman by publically making fun of Vivek Oberoi at a party on Tuesday evening.Vivek Oberoi must’ve never in his wildest dreams imagined that he would be called a waiter at a party. It’s he who always calls Ganpat for the daaru, right? Well, this time the tables were turned during Ramesh Taurani’s silver anniversary, which had its share of drama with Vivek being the butt of the joke. Salman Khan’s younger brother Sohail Khan didn’t miss the opportunity to cock a snook at Salman’s sworn enemy Vivek Oberoi. It was bhai chaara at its best when Sohail decided to stand up for his bade bhaiya. When Sohail walked in, Vivek was busy sipping a drink. Sohail proceeded further into the hall where the party was gaining momentum. A few seconds later, Sohail saw Vivek standing quietly in one corner. On spotting Vivek, Sohail couldn’t help but remember the enmity between Vivek and Salman and he decided to get cheeky.
An eyewitness says, “Suddenly Sohail called out ‘Oye, Vivek!’. On hearing his name, Vivek looked towards Sohail. Immediately, Sohail looked at a waiter carrying a tray of drinks and again said, ‘Oye, Vivek, zaraa idhar aana’. Vivek’s face fell when he realised that Sohail had humiliated him. The shocked actor simply put his head down and walked a few paces away from where Sohail was standing. Did Vivek want to confront Sohail? And did he control his anger as Salman was shortly expected to make an appearance at the do? We may never know, but one thing is for sure, poor Vivek is still paying for that much publicised press conference he had called in April 2003 complaining that Salman harassed and threatened him over the phone for his relationship with Aishwarya Rai, with whom Salman was romantically involved earlier.
A friend of Sohail (name withheld on request) present at the party confirmed the incident. He laughed and said, “Uske baad Vivek ka chehra dekhne laayak tha.
Vivek Oberoi avoiding Salman Khan
Salman has always been vocal about his displeasure for Vivek in his interviews even till now. Vivek on the other hand has been trying in vain to seek forgiveness from him but to no avail. So it has not been surprising that Vivek is nowadays avoiding coming face to face with Salman Khan at events and parties. The Tuesday August 11th late night party of producer Ramesh Taurani celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary was yet another example.
We saw Vivek rush immediately to the front main entrance to leave the party when Salman Khan arrived. Vivek was so much in hurry to flee the venue that when his driver arrived he hoped in the car and told his driver to shift to the next seat. But just when he was getting into the car when we asked him why has he been strategically planning his exits to avoid Salman’s entries to parties, Vivek diplomatically replied, “Oh is it so? No I don’t think so. There is nothing like that.” After saying which he kept grinning mischievously
Around six years back, Vivek Oberoi took a panga with Salman Khan by making their personal matter public in front of the entire National media. As fate would have it, Vivek’s career literally nosedived since then and till date he is struggling to find a good stronghold in the industry whereas newcomers who came after him like Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and even Neil Nitin Mukesh today are at a much better standing than him in Bollywood.
Salman-SRK-Vivek avoid face off!
Juicy Mausi has a great piece of gossip from the 25th wedding anniversary bash of Ramesh Taurani (TIPS Films head honcho) at a suburban five-star hotel last night in Mumbai. It was a grand A-list affair with the who’s of who of Bollywood and the music industry coming in to greet the Taurani couple. However, what left me amused was how Salman Khan avoided coming face-to-face with Shah Rukh Khan. What’s more, as soon as Salman arrived, Vivek Oberoi slipped out immediately.Shah Rukh arrived driving his car, puffing his cigarette.
Sohail Khan was already present when he went in. King Khan didn’t hang around much and left after greeting the Taurani couple.Just minutes after SRK left, Salman Khan arrived from the back door entrance of the hotel. Now I don’t know if Sohail called up his elder brother to tell him the ‘coast is clear’, or whether he kept Salman waiting to arrive to avoid a face off with SRK.But funnily as soon as Salman made a back door entry, Vivek Oberoi who was present at the party immediately rushed to the front door to make an exit. He was in such a hurry that he told his driver to shift to the next seat and he himself took to the wheel.
Salman, too, left in exactly five minutes from the front gate. Luckily, Vivek’s car was out of the hotel premises by then. Incidentally, SRK and Salman stay just few metres away from Taj Lands End. Well, here’s hoping that both do better than Khan’s last effort Billu!
