Madhuri Dixit made her acting debut in Rajshri Productions' movie Abodh in 1984. The film failed but minor and supporting roles continued to follow. She attained stardom after she landed the lead female role in N. Chandra's blockbuster Tezaab (1988),[8] for which she received her first Filmfare nomination. In the following year, she starred in a number of important films that included Ram Lakhan, Parinda and Tridev. Sonakshi Sinha (born 2 June 1987) is an Indian actress and model. She is the daughter of actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha and Punam Sinha. She has two brothers, Luv Sinha and Kussh Sinha. Sinha started her career as a model and walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion week 2008 and then again in Lakme Fashion week 2009.

Madhuri Dixit demand Rs 5 crore to sign a film!

Madhuri Dixit has quoted Rs 5 crore to sign a film. This is the amount what the likes of Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra demand per film.

Many producers were keen to rope in Madhuri Dixit, but the amount she has asked for has left the producers baffled. No doubt that the wonderful actress hasn’t lost her charm even though she is in her late 40s. But isn’t asking for Rs 5 crore an inordinate demand?

Madhuri can get pricey! Her manager Rikku Rakesh Nath confirms this news to a daily and is quoted as saying, “Yes, Madhuri has asked for five crores. We feel she is definitely worth the price she is quoting. She is a superstar with an enviable fan following even today. So, why shouldn’t she ask for what she deserves?”

Agreed that Madhuri was the eyeball grabber for the TV show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 4 and the makers now want her back for another season. But will the producers in tinsel town cater to her lofty demand? A trade analyst says, “Who will give Madhuri five crores now?” The actress has even declined some offers which required her to do a sister or a mother’s role.

Now, Madhuri is in the USA with her kids.

Madhuri Dixit refused Rajini’s rana offer!

When all heroines who matter in the country today are waiting for a call to feature as Rajinikanth’s pair in ‘Rana’, the Bollywood yester year heartthrob Madhuri Dixit has reportedly refused the offer to star as one of the Rajini’s pair in the upcoming film.

Rajinikanth plays three characters belonging to three different generations in the film. Current national sensation Deepika Padukone has already been signed to play the romantic pair to the youngest Rajini in the film.

But to play Jodi to one of the older characters Madhuri Dixit was approached and buzz is that the lady declined the offer on personal grounds.  Apparently Madhuri turned down the request saying that she misses her children too much and wanted to fly back to the United States at the earliest.

Madhuri Dixit had paired with the super star before in a 1987 Bollywood film called ‘Uttar Dakshin’. For the other Rajini, the names of Sneha and Anushka are being considered according to grapevine.

SRK made Madhuri Dixit cry!

In a dance reality show named Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa, in which Madhuri Dixit is a judge, the King of Bollywood complimented her by saying, how stupid of him to teach dance to Madhuri Dixit in the movie Dil toh Pagal hai as a protagonist.

  The King also complimented her by saying that she is the best and wants to watch her again on the silver screen. Madhuri just couldn’t control her emotion and shed tears. Truly it was a great moment to watch.st looks in ‘RA.ONE’

Madhuri Dixit

A real Indian beauty and one of the most prominent actress in Bollywood, Madhuri Shanker Dixit was born on 16th May 1967 and belongs to a Marathi Bhramin family. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, she established herself as one of Hindi cinema's leading actress and a trained kathak dancer, she is well known for her expressive performances and dance numbers in various films, she was awarded the Padam Shri by the Government.

Maduri got married in 1999 with Shriram Mahadev Nene, a UCLA trained cardiovascular surgeon who practices in Denver, he is also from Marathi Bhramin family. She has two sons Arie and Raayan. These days Madhuri Dixit has been stealing the show on Jalak Dikhlaa jaa, she judges various contestants on the show and she believes that her past is freshened up with each and every performance by the participants.

Madhuri Dixit as Indira Gandhi

Acclaimed film maker Krishna Shah, who has films like Shalimar, Hard Rock Zombies, American Drive-In and Cinema Cinema to his credit, will soon make a film based on the late Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi’s life. Shah had been penning the script of Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story for over two decades now and he feels it is the right time to bring it live on screen.

Noted Bollywood star Madhuri Dixit has been signed up to play Indira Gandhi in Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story. The Variety magazine reported that the film will hit the marquee in 2011.

Vyjayanthimala-The Legend Of Indian Cinema

Vyjayanthimala Bali was born on August 13, 1936, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Vyjayanthimala is a major Indian actress of the 1950s and '60s, who won a large number of awards for her acting and classical dancing achievements. Following her cinema career, she entered Indian politics, and became a Member of Parliament.

At the age of 5, Vyjayanthimala got the rare chance of performing a dance before the Pope. At age 15, she got a break in AVM Productions Tamil movie, Vazhkai, which was produced by M. V. Raman, a family friend. The movie was a success, and was remade in Hindi as Bahaar (1951). She acted in a few more Tamil movies before moving on to a highly successful career in Hindi movies. Her dance competition with Padmini in the Tamil film, Vanjikottai Vaaliban, received much acclaim.

Vyjayanthimala got her initial Hindi movie roles in Ladki and Nagin (1954). Hemant Kumar's music and her dance accompanying the song, Man Dole, Mera tan dole, in Nagin made the movie an enormous success, and the movie's success helped Vyjayanthimala break out of B grade movies. Bimal Roy cast her as Chandramukhi opposite Dilip Kumar in the critically acclaimed Devdas. The first two of those four roles earned her Filmfare Best Actress Awards. also received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress for portraying in Sadhana a tawaif (a courtesan) who eventually got rehabilitated in the society. She costarred with Raj Kapoor in Sangam which earned her the Filmfare Best Actress Award.

Vyjayanthimala starred in the 1966 historical epic, Amrapali, which was based on the life of the legendary Buddhist courtesan Amrapali. The movie was not a commercial success, and the commercial failure much disappointed her as she considered it the magnum opus of her career. Later, she said that she would like to see a remake of that movie, with Madhuri Dixit playing her role.[2]

She costarred with Dev Anand in Jewel Thief, with Rajendra Kumar in Suraj, with Shammi Kapoor in Prince, and with Kishore Kumar in his inane yet zany comedies,including the blockbuster New Delhi. In 2007, she published her autobiography, titled Bonding, with Jyoti Sabarwal as co-writer.


Vyjayanthimala's Tamil movies included Vanjikottai Valiban, Irumbuthirai, Then Nilavu, Vaazhkai, Penn, Parthiban Kanavu (old), and Baghdad Thirudan. The actress also received Padma Shri Award in 1968. Vyjayanthimala also got the Legend of Indian Cinema Award at Atlantic City (United States) in 2004. In the year 2005 she got the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Bollywood Movie Awards.

Konkona Sen Sharma

Konkona Sen Sharma was born December 3, 1979. She is an Indian actress. Sharma appears primarily in Indian arthouse and independent films, and her achievements in the genre have established her as one of the leading actresses of contemporary parallel cinema.

Making her debut as a child artist in the film Indira (1983), Konkona Sen Sharma debuted as an adult in the Bengali thriller Ek Je Aachhe Kanya (2000). She first gained attention with the English-language film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002), which was directed by her mother, and received the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film.
Konkona acted in Dosar, a highly acclaimed Bengali film by Rituporno Ghosh. Sharma won the best actress award at Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council (MIAAC) Film Festival for this film.

konkona's first release of 2007, Traffic Signal (2007) didn't performed well at the box office, but she received good reviews for her performance. Her second released film of 2007, Life in a Metro, was released to good reviews and emerged as a hit in India.

Sharma's performance as a confused girl was praised a lot and she won her second Filmfare Award for this performance. In late 2007, Konkona acted in two movies under Yash Raj Films banner. In the first one, Pradeep Sarkar's drama Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, she portrayed the character of a Banaras small town young woman, Chutki alongside Rani Mukherji. The film was a critical and commercial failure in India, even though her performance was highly praised.

The second one was Aaja Nachle; the comeback film of Madhuri Dixit. This film did not do well at box office but Konkona got good reviews for her performance in the film.

In 2008, Konkona starred in Dil Kabaddi, which was a flop. Moreover, Konkona also starred in a short film ‘How Can It Be?’ directed by Mira Nair for a movie project called 8, which screened at Rome Film Festival and Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival (MIAAC), 2008.

In 2009, there followed by low-budget English film The President Is Coming , directed by Kunaal Roy Kapur. her upcoming releases for 2009 are Amavas, Right Ya Wrong, Sunglass, Wake Up Sid.

Konkona Sen Sharma does not fit into the conventional Bollywood actress mould and put her acting talents to use initially in contemporary cinema moving every now and then into the commercial stream.
