Vidya Balan is the latest entrant to Yash Raj camp. The actress who rejected Yash Raj's offer on two previous occasions has finally given her nod. The actress is reportedly pairing up with Aamir Khan in the film. YRF first approached her for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, but the actress turned down the role.
Which eventually went to Lara Dutta. Vidya was again offered Laaga Chunri Mein Daag by Yash Chopra but it seems the movie didn't interest her. After her two denials, Yash Chopra had decided never to cast Vidya in his films. But apparently Yash Chopra has decided to forget the past and make a fresh beginning. Vidya this time got a call from Yash Chopra himself and she couldn't say no.

Bipasha moving back to her home

Both Bipasha Basu and John Abraham have been busy this year getting their respective homes renovated.
Bipasha, it seems, has won the race to renovation. Her home in Khar (Mumbai) under renovation for the past one year is finally ready. And she is moving back to her home.
Heaving a sigh of relief Bipasha said, “The house warming puja is tomorrow (Wednesday) since there is no other auspicious day close by.
But it will take another ten days for all of us to move back into our home. It’s been one helluva wait.
The architects and designers took much longer than we thought they would. But finally I’m going home. I can’t wait. I’m tired of living out of suitcases.”
Bipasha’s boyfriend John, currently shooting in London will have to wait more for his home to be ready.
His family home on Bandra Bandstand has been under renovation for some months now, with no sign of completion yet. Now with John in London until September the work may take longer. “But I’m not worried. My brother is an architect and he’s taking good care of the renovation work,” says John from London with a false bravado.
However now that his better half’s home is done John intends to fly back from London periodically to check out the progress with his home. “I’m thinking of coming down for one day every weekend, if that’s possible. But I’m glad Bipasha’s home is finally ready. That’s as good as my own home, no?”

Emraan Hashmi can't buy a house in Pali Hill

ollywood serial kisser Emraan Hashmi has became a victim of discrimination here in the tinsel city. The Bollywood actor denied permission to buy an apartment in Posh Pali Hill locality in the city.
The Pali Hill's Nibbana Cooperative Society politely blocked the sale to Hashmi saying that society will not give NOC to him.
A disappointed actor said he was denied permission because of belonging to a minority community. “The housing society is discriminating against him because he is a Muslim,” the actor said.
However, on-screen Kissing King has approached state minority commission against the discrimination and lodged a complaint in this regard.

Rimii Sen to play a 160kg woman in Showman?

Rimii Sen will now soon be seen playing an obese woman in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming next, Showman. The film also stars Govinda, Celina Jaitley and South star Harish. Rimii tells us that she has been asked to put on an astounding 160 kg for the role. But well most of her weight shall be added up by padding it seems.
About the film, Rimii says, "It will be too early to reveal anything more but I can assure you that the role is very interesting. Most of my time went in just putting on and removing the make-up."
Showman is directed Tigmanshu Dhulia who has to his credit the critically acclaimed Haasil and also Charas. Rimii’s next release will be Sankat City which stars Kay Kay Menon, Anupam Kher and Chunky Pandey. Its comedy written and directed by Pankaj Advani who has written Shah Rukh Khan starrer Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa.
Incidentally Showman was earlier titled King Con and was the same film which was in news for Govinda’s whimsical ways on the film’s sets. Govinda plays a smooth talking con man in the film and both Celina and Rimii play his love interests.

Vidya Balan signed up for Yash Chopras next?

There is a strong buzz in the industry circles that Vidya Balan has been signed by Yash Chopra for his directorial next. It is the same project which was supposed to star Aamir Khan along with Preity Zinta. But while, Aamir is still being non-committal about being approached for the project, other news making the rounds is that Preity has been replaced by Vidya Balan.Sources are claiming that it is a love story spanning ages, but is completely different to what Chopra’s last directorial effort Veer Zara was. Incidentally, Veer Zara also had its lead pair Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta playing characters both young and old. Sources further claim that Yash Chopra intends to begin this film by early 2010 and make it a grand Diwali 2010 release. He will be finally directing a film after 6 years since he directed Veer Zara (2004).While there has been no confirmation from both Vidya Balan or Yash Raj Films yet, we can only imagine right now what crackling chemistry it would be of Aamir and Vidya, and to top it all with romance king Yash Chopra directing it.

Aishwarya to crack down on the false stories about her private life

Upset over "fabricated" media stories about her private life, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has threatened legal action against those responsible, a statement issued by her publicist said Thursday.
"Certain sections of the press have been behaving in a callous manner and have been putting together articles or pieces without any semblance of truth and furthermore they have been attributing quotes to the actor which are baseless and false.
Previously our client preferred to remain silent to let better sense prevail be it the news when she was married off to a tree or otherwise. This silence should not be misconstrued as a weakness, " the statement read.
The statement was issued to counter an article titled "Career more important than family" by a website where one of the quotes attributed to the actress read:
"If I want to remain in the film industry then I need to stay fit", that implied that she will not have children. The article also stated that her actor-husband Abhishek Bachchan was in agreement with her stand.
"She is one actress who never made any statements that her marriage can wait and she will focus on her career. When she did, she got her family's blessings and got married in the middle of a film and has been a thorough professional even after her wedding, " the statement said.
"We must not forget that besides being a star in every right Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is about a daughter, a wife, and a daughter in law, a symbol of our tradition and she has always believed and practiced values that govern our society. Irresponsible statements about her private life will not be left to grow without a strong rebuttal, " it added.
The statement also warned of strict legal action against those behind such stories about the 35-year-old. "This may be read and understood in no uncertain terms that hence forth we would be forced to take legal recourse in any such event of a piece or article appearing without any credibility or which is an absolute fabrication of one's imagination... We must respect Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her stand to remain silent on such baseless rumors but it would be wrong to use her name to further a personal cause or career, " it read.

Mallika Sherawat avoids nude shot again?

When we first saw the promos of Mallika Sherawat starrer Hissss, we got the impression that she has indeed given a nude shot in the film.
There were sequences seen in the extended promo that showed a nude butt shot of Mallika sliding in the mud and turning into a deadly snake.
We were in fact the first ones to have reported about it back then. While it suggested it was her.
We have now found out that it is actually a body double used instead of Mallika. So what actually happened to this dare bare attitude girl who once shed all her inhibitions on screen?
It is learnt that when the shoot for the shot was going to take place, she requested to the film's director, Jennifer Lynch that.
She would not be able to do the scene and it would be better to use a body double. Jennifer perhaps understood her predicament and canned the shot with a body double.
But this hasn't been the first instance when Mallika has chickened out of giving a nude shot. Apparently, she was earlier supposed to do a nude scene in Mahesh Bhatt's Murder (2004) but when she reached the sets she developed cold feet.

Shahrukh ends his cold war with Aishwarya

Shahrukh Khan is all set to end his seven year old cold war with Aishwarya Bachchan. If sources inside the industry are to be believed Shahrukh plans to cast Aishwarya in his next home production. Yet another Bollywood actor has made it big in the field of beauty biz. After launching perfumes, a Yoga DVD, and acquiring a stake in IPL cricket team, Bollywood hot lady Shilpa Shetty launched her medi spa named as 'IOSIS' in Mumbai.
Commenting over the launch of spa, Shilpa said: "Our idea behind opening IOSIS is that obviously people cannot do the treatments at home so we want them to spend some time with us and rediscover themselves."
The 34-year old actress further added that the wellness and beauty industry is growing and her idea behind the medi spa is to help people rediscover them.
Besides Rekha, Shilpa's close pals and Bollywood actresses Pooja Batra and Sushmita Sen were also present during the occasion. This is a joint venture of Shilpa Shetty and well-known entrepreneur Kiran Bawa.
The medispa will be a fusion of four - styling, spa, salon and skin treatments. Every treatment will be under the supervision of trained professionals.

It has been a long time coming, but Katrina Kaif has finally broken her silence about her relationship with boyfriend Salman Khan and cleared the air for all those who are under any misconceptions.In the latest issue of People magazine, the Bollywood beauty stated categorically that she is very much in love with Salman and is very happy with him.

Katrina also revealed that she carries a picture of the Bollywood bad boy with her at all times. Coming to the most important question of marriage, Katrina was frank and said that she is not ready to get married for another year at least even though Salman is eager to settle down with her. Bipasha’s Hollywood dream comes to an end

Just few days back there were tabloid reports about Bipasha Basu’s first Hollywood project starring Titanic villain Billy Zane, going on floors. But now news has trickled in that the project is being scrapped. It was supposed to begin shooting on July 25th. It is learnt that producer Smita Thackeray had backed out with reasons being cited as personal and professional. This yet to be titled film was to be directed by David Silverman and was to feature Bipasha in Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft avatar. It was supposed to be shot in Kodaikanal and had actor Rajvirr of Kaise Kahen (2007) fame playing Bipasha’s second love interest.

The film was to have Bipasha doing some intense love making scenes with both Billy and Rajvirr. Rumour mills suggest- the choice of Rajvirr as the male lead wasn’t appreciated but Smita Thackeray was adamant about him playing the role. However now that Smita has backed out from the film, it only means that for now Bipasha’s dream of going international has come to a standstill, at least for now. Though for a long time both Bipasha and her boyfriend John Abraham have been trying to go international, they haven’t succeeded.

Kareena Kapoor buzz upsets Love Aaj Kal director

The much-awaited film Love Aaj Kal has been in the news ever since it was launched. Interestingly, people are talking more about Kareena Kapoor’s exclusion than the film itself. Director of the film Imtiaz Ali is not happy with the Kareena buzz. It all started with the people expecting Kareena to act in Love Aaj Kal for the simple reason that it has her boyfriend Saif Ali Khan in the lead role. Moreover, it is Saif’s first home production.

What came as a surprise was the selection of Deepika Padukone as the female lead. So, many started buzzing why Kareena was ignored.This divert in attention has upset Imtiaz Ali, the director of Love Aaj Kal. According to reports Akshay Kumar was initially approached to play Govinda’s part in Life Partner. Though Akshay Kumar couldn’t do the film as he was busy with 8×10 Tasveer, he was constantly in touch with the makers through the scripting of this film.When Abbas-Mastan and Rumi Jaffery explained that they were at a loss for the movie’s title – Akshay helped them out. After listening to the climax Akshay suggested Life Partner as an appropriate title for the film.

A unit member said, “All these rumours of a rift between Rumi and Akshay are false. Both parted ways amicably”.Director Rumi Jaffery confirms, “It is really funny. I couldn’t believe it. During our conversation, Akshay came up with such a simple title.

We all just loved it”. Life Partner is a story of two couples and their journey through their relationships; while one takes the route of love marriage and the other arrange marriage.

A little birdie tells me that Saif Ali Khan has been so excited about his home production that Chotey Nawab arranged for the film to be screened in the middle of the night.I am told that Saif was very nervous about how Love Aaj Kal had turned out to be.

The first copy of the film was still being processed when our man had been pacing up and down like an expectant father. So when Saif finally heard that the copy was ready, he along with business partner Dines Vijan arranged for a special screening to be arranged at 2 am!

It seems both the men have loved the film. As for me, I am dying to watch it for myself.

A source on the sets has disclosed that when the make-up was done for the first time it did not work out. Paul then took six hours to get her the perfect old age look. The movie also star Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor and Neha Dhupia.

On Monday afternoon Kareena spoke at the launch of a new line of diamond jewellery in the Mumbai.Incidentally Katrina Kaif also endorses another line designed by the same company. When asked about Katrina she said, “I am very grateful and thankful to Katrina for all the nice things she has said about me”. Bebo said she was in no way envious of Katrina and the host of endorsements in her kitty.

Now we are not sure what has sparked off this newfound admiration between the two beauties. But if the two decide to do a film together, the Kareena-Katrina combo can certainly set the box office on fire.

Katrina’s angelic face, gorgeous smile and down-to-earth attitude makes her the hot favourite among netizens. Katrina Kaif will be back with a bang in a meaty role in Prakash Jha’s Rajniti and dabbles with comedy in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and is paired opposite her best co-star Akshay Kumar in De Dana Dan.Meanwhile former beauty queen and an international face, Aishwarya Rai, holds the second position.

Now busy with the shooting for the film Raavana with her hubby Abhishek Bachchan, she has a string of films with big directors like Vipul Shah, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Rituparno Ghosh. Katrina recently took a shot at Kareena Kapoor. Katrina, the more successful of the two let Kareena take one below the belt as she criticised Bebo’s preference of showing more skin to male audiences rather than acting on screen. This was in direct reference to Kareena’s latest disaster ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ where she pranced around half naked for most of her running time with limited expressions.

Will LIFE PARTNER help Amrita Rao break her image?

Hardly a handful of films old, Amrita Rao already has two superhits, MAIN HOON NA, VIVAAH and three hits, ISHQ VISHK, MASTI and WELCOME TO SAJJANPUR listed in her resume. Most of the roles that she essayed were performance oriented ones, in which the producers used her girl next door, innocent and demure looks and thus she sort of got caught up in that image.
However, it appears that Amrita, like all actresses, wants to prove her versatility, and so is trying her level best to break free of the pretty girl next door image. Unfortunately even that proved to be a debacle. But, the film industry, which is quite apathetic to failures, has fortunately given Amrita another chance. And we now have a third film, Abbas-Mustan's LIFE PARTNER, starring ex-comedy king Govinda, Tusshar Kapoor, Genelia D'Souza and of course Amrita Rao .
Since the film is being produced by Abbas-Mustan, the required glam quotient is naturally present and so there is a scope for Amrita to break free from her image, and present her 'sexy' side successfully. And we will come to know about it when the film releases on August 14. While on LIFE PARTNER, Amrita Rao essays an extended special appearance in the film.

Another actress in this row is Celina Jaitely, who bought special t-shirts for the crew of her film 'Paying Guest'. And Deepika Padukone is not far behind them. Rimi Sen: Bachchans are epitome of good behaviour!

Rimi Sen is quite happy these days, and the reason is obvious. Her latest release, the Pankaj Advani directed, SANKAT CITY, a film very close to her heart, is doing very well. Even in its second week the film is on a very steady run, with barely a fall of about 33 percent in week two as compared to the first one.
However, we decided to take Rimi on a different course altogether, and asked her about her relationship with the two Bachchans, because from the newer lot of actresses, she is amongst the fortunate few who have worked with both the Bachchans (BAGHBAAN and DHOOM). So we asked her about the difference between the two. Says the actress, ''Nothing much. They are very cultured, polished, humble and kind hearted, which shows that they come from a very good family background. After Black, instead of going for a variety of roles which would showcase her talent, Rani Mukherjee chose to stick to Yash Raj banners alone - with films like Laaga Chunri Mein Daag and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Bhansali's Saawariya did nothing to improve matters. The actress has sought divine help to overcome all the obstacles.
Rani is believed to have undertaken a fast on every Thursday for 40 weeks, followed by a pooja at the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi. The actress has already been at it for the last three months. We just hope for her sake that it all works out fine for her. But things just may change and maybe Rani will again become the queen of hearts and the box office.

After her popular Bebo Mein Bebo act in Kambakkht Ishq Kareena of Bollywood has been involved in international stage shows that were once a fixture every season. She has won a lot more admirers across continents and has prompted foreign show promoters to plan a string of stage shows revolving around her.
They have gotten in touch with local show organisers and have planned a three-stage world tour on US, Europe and South African shores according to our sources. And they have even chalked out a deal for Bebo that they feel she can’t refuse. If things work out, this will be the first time an Indian actress is doing a series of shows around the world. The only glitch is that Kareena has no dates and is busy through the next year. But the event organisers are hopeful that she’d make some time for them to spread some cheer in the industry and her fans.

Bipasha's Hollywood dream comes to an end

Just few days back there were tabloid reports about Bipasha Basu’s first Hollywood project starring Titanic villain Billy Zane, going on floors. But now news has trickled in that the project is being scrapped. It was supposed to begin shooting on July 25th. It is learnt that producer Smita Thackeray had backed out with reasons being cited as personal and professional.This yet to be titled film was to be directed by David Silverman and was to feature Bipasha in Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft avatar. It was supposed to be shot in Kodaikanal and had actor Rajvirr of Kaise Kahen (2007) fame playing Bipasha’s second love interest. The film was to have Bipasha doing some intense love making scenes with both Billy and Rajvirr.
Rumour mills suggest- the choice of Rajvirr as the male lead wasn’t appreciated but Smita Thackeray was adamant about him playing the role.
However now that Smita has backed out from the film, it only means that for now Bipasha’s dream of going international has come to a standstill, at least for now. Though for a long time both Bipasha and her boyfriend John Abraham have been trying to go international, they haven't succeeded.

When Aamir Khan got stumped

Aamir Khan was left stumped, pleasantly of course, while shooting for his film 3 Idiots in Delhi recently.
A source reveals, “It so happened that in the breaks between his shots he went on to chat with the shopkeepers of Delhi’s Connaught Place area, where he was shooting. He candidly asked them which films they were looking forward to watch. To his surprise, everyone one he spoke to named only one film– Love Aaj Kal. Aamir was left smiling. It is not known whether Aamir passed on this message to Saif, but it seems like Love Aaj Kal is a sure fire hit even before its release!”
Another interesting bit of information revealed about Aamir by our source is that, Aamir finds it difficult to read the complete censor certificate as to how many reels the film is and also, what category has it been certified. He has been trying for years now, but still hasn’t mastered the art. Well Aamir, welcome to the club!

Impatient Saif watches own film trial at 2 in the Night!

Often a producer’s excitement at the first copy of his film coming out of the lab, is comparable to the experience of having a new born baby. The father may not exactly be present at the hospital, but he wastes no time in rushing to the hospital on hearing the news of his new born baby, to have a glimpse of it. Similarly, a producer may not be physically presented when his film’s first copy is being processed, but then, he rushes immediately to have a first dekko of his final print.
Bollywood’s latest actor turned producer Saif Ali Khan showed similar excitement however, he took his anxiety to an altogether different level. It so happens, that Saif and his Illuminati Films production partner Dinesh Vijan, after receiving the first final copy of the film, couldn’t resist watching it as soon they could. They immediately arranged a trial theater for the same and watched the film. Incidentally, it was 2 am in the morning when their show began.
So what was the final outcome after the show? “They were extremely overjoyed on watching it, as it fulfilled all their expectations.” our source reveals.

A sneek-peak at forthcoming ‘Jail’

Now, they come together once again for another hard hitting yet sensitive tale of an ordinary man in their forthcoming ‘Jail’ which stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mugdha Godse, Manoj Bajpayee in the lead roles. The music has been given by Shamir Tandon and Toshi - Sharib, and the lyrics are from Sandeep Nath, Ajay Garg, Kumar, Turaz.
Neil plays the main protagonist, Parag Dixit, who has all the joys in his life- A great job, a lovely house, a loving girlfriend Maansi, a night out with friends at some suburban watering hole after a hard day’s job…
Things take a turn when after a series of unfortunate events he suddenly wakes up in jail- handcuffed slapped on his wrists, continuous questioning by Cops, being slapped and beaten by them. What follows is the young man’s hard journey trying to adjust to place where he does not belong- dirty, crowded spaces, inedible food, hostile cellmates, angry Policemen and weird rules of the place….
Neil has already played a role a bit similar to this in ‘New York’. Lets wait and see how he performs in ‘Jail’.
