Bipasha surprised to hear John’s jail sentence

John Abraham’s 15 days jail sentence came as a big surprise for Bipasha Basu and she responded highly to the judgement of the court. She quips, “We’ll go to a higher court to fight the judgement. We can not just admit it quietly. John has been treated unfairly”.Bips was shooting and she heard about the judgement only at late night. She was stunned with the verdict. “Can you believe it? My phone had stopped working on Thursday. We knew John was going into court, but thought the issue would be closed this time.”

While John Abraham was tight lipped about the whole thing. “More than himself, John’s worry was for his family and for youngsters who look up to him as a role model. He is not an irresponsible person. In fact, he is really aware of his social duties. It is unfair to punish him for an incident in which he was hurt the most,” Basu said.

Bipasha Basu gives SRK competition

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has never acted in a movie opposite Shah Rukh Khan nor have their movies clashed at the box office on the similar day. However, the actress takes on SRK by endorsing a competitive furnishing brand. For the photo shoot of a print ad for the brand, Bipasha Basu modelled in outfits made by designer Gavin Miguel.The gowns were made out of upholstery material used for furnishings.

Talking about one of the outfits, Basu says, “It was extremely hard to move around in the heavy leather gown. It weighed 50 kilos and I am only 58 kilos.However, the brown outfit was my favourite among the four looks we shot for.”“I used to stay in a paying guest apartment and then moved to a rented place when I first came to Mumbai.

So when I could finally purchase a house here, I made it a point to furnish it with the best materials available,” says Basu.

Bipasha Basu turns Hindi teacher

Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has now taken up the job of a tutor and the lucky student is her south co-star Rana Daggubati. No this not any role that she is playing in any of her forthcoming movie but on the sets of Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maro Dum she was found helping Rana with his Hindi who is poor in the language.

According to a source from the sets, “As he is not well-versed with the language, the actress is taking all the hard work to have him good control over the language, which will only help to mouth his dialogues well. Though Bipasha herself is not that easy with the language but trying her bit to help Rana Daggubati.”

The actress also not seriously adds that now if he asks her any word in Hindi she’ll charge a fee but who cares about the fees when it’s learning practice with Bipasha.

Bipasha-John relationship is over

It seems that is the spell of break-ups in Bollywood. After Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu have parted ways. They were touted as one of the best pairs of Bollywood. Marriage was also on the cards. Alas! Luck had some other plans.John and Bipasha were dating each other since 2002.It is believed that since last year, the couple was having constant fights and coldness was the reason, which led to the divide.

Sources close to couple state, John Abraham is known to have a Casanova image.Although earlier Bipasha didn’t bother about it much, it’s believed that off late, Bipasha Basu was getting more and more insecure about John’s playful image. To add to that, John’s pairing opposite Pakhi in Abbas Tyrewala’s ‘1-800-Love’ didn’t go very well with Bipasha.Reportedly, John and Pakhi became very close friends during the shoot.”

Earlier too during the making of Salaam-e-Ishq Vidya Balan and John came close to each other and Bipasha’s uncertainty reached it’s high. Though John somehow salvaged the situation. A common friend of Bipasha and John confirmed the development and said, “Yes, John and Bipasha have broken up.The differences between them were too much to handle for Bipasha who finally broke-up with John.

Bipasha Basu learns Bhojpuri for film

Only a few days back, Katrina Kaif  got her fans frenzied as she spoke Bhojpuri in Bihar during a promotional event for her upcoming flick ‘Raajneeti’. And now, Bollywood bombshell Bipasha Basu is all set to give ‘Bihar Ki Beti’ Katrina a tough competition! Bips, who has pulled off several bold roles with élan in some of her blockbuster movies in the past, has taken up something completely different this time round.

The actress has been roped in for Priyadarshan’s next venture, whereby she would be seen in an absolutely de-glamourised role. Not just that, Bollywood’s Bengali beauty Bips is reportedly learning hardcore Bhojpuri these days, as she would be playing an ordinary Bihari woman in the same. Reports reveal that Bips will be seen wearing cotton sarees and mouthing Bhojpuri dialogues in the upcoming flick, for which she’s been attending special tuitions for quite sometime now.

It’s been revealed that the film is based on the real-life honour killings that take place in Bihar, and Bipasha is ditching make-up and is learning to take on an accent to portray a simple Bihari woman in the same.

Bipasha Basu avoids sitting on John’s bikes

Men are always known for their obsession with their petrol fed two-wheeler pets. There is some instinct in them that snaps up if any small bit changes in their bikes. So much they won’t even mind hurting their beloveds. A die-hard lover of bikes, John Abhraham won’t have a single moment of peace when his long time girlfriend Bipasha Basu sits on his bike. And for that matter the hot actress even avoids going out with him on his bikes.

John had said, “Bipasha doesn’t like sitting behind me on bikes as I keep complaining about the bike getting scratched or damaged.” Recently, John has been in Delhi, as the brand ambassador of Yamaha Motor, to launch the three new bikes. John is very passionate towards bikes, for he candidly said, “I love motorcycles, I am married to them and I have had a honeymoon period with them. I don’t let anyone sit on my bikes or touch them.”

It is said that he is ardent shopper for helmets and said to have different helmets for different days. Well John hope Bips doesn’t puncture your bike’s wheels someday

Bipasha Basu’s cheque didn’t come on time

Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif, Gulshan and Grover performed at the South Asian Carnival on August 15. Bipasha was to be part of the package but she stayed back in London as her cheque didn’t arrive. This was a part of a two-day, extravagant fun fair in Chicago to celebrate India’s Independence Day for people to see their favorite stars and get their autographs and pictures too. Bipasha, who reached Mumbai a couple of days back and is currently shooting in Kadaikudi for Priyadarshan’s film opposite Ajay Devgan, says, “Yes, I didn’t go for the Independence Day Carnival in Chicago. The money didn’t come on time so instead of going to US, I stayed back in London to spend time with John (Abraham) and shooting for Harpers Bazaar.” The actress is very clear about the stance she had to take vis-a-vis her trip to Chicago.

Katrina, Saif, Kareena were holidaying there but I had to take a nine-hour flight to Chicago. I didn’t want to fly without any confirmation. They were willing to pay me part of my entire remuneration. The organisers (Cineyug’s Morani brothers) told me to take a chance and fly down from London (where Bipasha was) to Chicago. They said they would try to see what they could do depending on the crowd turnout but I flatly refused.I couldn’t afford to take a chance and fly all the way down without getting my full amount.” So she stayed back in London “chilling with John and shopping for bath and kitchen accessories at Heels, John Lewis and Selfridges for my new home in Khar.” Morani says, “Frankly, the overseas business is handled by Karim and Aly and I really don’t have knowledge of this.” Despite repeated text messages and calls Karim and Aly remained unavailable for comment.

For Priyadarshan’s film which is based on honour killings, Bipasha dons “a simple, deglam, realistic and very traditional Bengali look though I play a Bihari girl. “I am clad in simple cotton sarees, with bindi, hair in a bun. I play a housewife and am growing my hair for the role. It’s quite a defined one and I am very excited to be playing it,” says the Bengali actress, who has Rituparno Ghosh’s Shab Charitro Kalponik, Sanjay Gupta’s Pankh and Ajay Devgan’s All The Best coming up as her next releases.

Bipasha skips Salman’s show for John

The latest buzz doing the round is that Bong bombshell Bipasha Basu skips Salman Khan’s reality show ‘Dus Ka Dum’ due to Sallu’s on-going rivalry with beau John Abraham. John and Salman were not on talking terms for a long period and on looking at their differences, Bipasha Basu decided not to appear on Salman’s show as she does not want to get into any controversy.Her co-stars Ajay Devgan and Fardeen Khan are likely to appear but the sexy lady turned down.

A source says, “Bipasha has no problems whatsoever with Salman; however because of his issues with her boyfriend John, she has been avoiding any direct contact with the actor. The untitled film will have Mughda Godse and Sanjay Dutt along with Ajay, Fardeen and Bipasha Basu. The film will be directed by Rohit Shetty and will be produced by Ajay Devgan.

Vidya Balan loses out to Bipasha

Not many are aware that Vidya Balan was the first choice for Ajay Devgan’s home production, All The Best. She was first approached by Ajay and Rohit Shetty, the director of All The Best, but eventually this very same role went to Bipasha Basu. A source claims, “Ajay and Rohit wanted bulk dates from Vidya for their 45 days long shooting schedule in Goa which was to include the entire cast of the film.

But since Vidya had already committed her dates to Balki’s Paa and few other important projects she expressed her inability to allocate so many days at a stretch that too for an outdoor shoot.Well then Vidya’s loss turned out to be Bipasha’s double gain as during the Goa shoot, Bips ended up getting friendly with Ajay Devgan.

And now post, All The Best, she has now landed yet another film with Ajay.She has been signed up by Kumar Mangat and Ajay for their new film opposite Akshaye Khanna. It will be directed by Priyadarshan and is based on honour killings.

Bipasha Basu to host reality show on TV ?

Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment is producing an American-based reality show in India. The production house has signed Bipasha Basu on, as the host of the show.It is learnt that the show will go on floors by next month. It has the same concept as America’s Next Top Model. A source reveals,The show will have a number of women compete for the title of the Best Model to get a chance to start their career in the modelling industry. There will be minor changes in the pattern of the show as it is catering to the Indian audience and the show will be called the Female Model Hunt.

The source continues,The show in America has gained a lot of popularity and has one of the highest TRPs. The American show host in former supermodel Tyra Banks. In India, one will see model-turned-actress Bipasha Basu as the show host.The show format will have around nine to thirteen episodes and will start with 10-14 contestants. In each episode, one contestant will be eliminated.There will also be a panel of judges which are still under the working process. But the judges to be chosen will be from the modeling industry.

Red Chillies earlier produced The First Ladies with Abu-Sandeep and Knights and Angels. It also produced a drama based serial called Ghar Ki Baat Hai.When contacted Samar Khan of Red Chillies he refused to comment.

Why is Bipasha angry with Rituparno Ghosh?

Bollywood actor Bipasha Basu was apparently miffed with filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh, for dubbing her voice in her first Bengali film Shob Choritro Kalponik without informing her. But reportedly, she wasn’t much upset after seeing the film as the voice hasn’t hampered her performance in the movie. Written and directed by Rituparno Ghosh, the film stars Bipasha Basu, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Pauli Dam and Sohag Sen.

An emotional movie of death and loss, Shob Charitro Kalponik is the story of Radhika’s (Bipasha) journey into the life of her late poet-husband, Indraneel (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and the revelations and contradictions she learns about Indraneel as a poet and husband. She realises how much he romanticised their mundane, everyday life.

Yet in reality, he was often insensitive, negligent and apathetic towards her. She wonders about his dual identity. The film also made it to the Durban Film Festival.

Ex-lovers Bipasha Basu, Dino live it up!

Former lovers Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea were seen living it up at a party held at a suburban nightclub last week.The two were together till the wee hours at the party, which was a going away party for a common friend who was leaving for the US for good. A source present at the party said, “Everybody was surprised to see Bipasha and Dino partying together last week. The two haven’t been seen much together after they called it quits and Bipasha started seeing John Abraham. Perhaps the two hanging out together had something to do with a certain Mr Abraham being away in London. As for the Bipasha-Dino equation, despite parting ways, the two have been good friends and no animosity was ever witnessed between them over the years. But seeing the two old lovers partying together did raise quite a few eyebrows.

Commenting on the party, the source added, “It was a farewell party organised by Bipasha and her friend Rocky S for one of their close friends. Unfortunately, John couldn’t be present at the party as he is busy shooting for Abbas Tyrewala’s film, 1-800-LOVE, in London. Dino was also invited to the party.Bipasha confirmed the news and said, “John’s best friend, Vicky, was leaving for America so decided to have a farewell party. All my friends, John’s friends and family got together. Unfortunately, John is in London and he missed all the fun that night.Rocky S, designer and a close friend of Bipasha, said, “Yes, Bipasha, Dino and a few of our friends did party together. We like to hang out together and also party once in a while.

Dino is a close friend of ours.Commenting on the party and also his relationship with Bipasha, Dino said, “John’s brother was there too. I completely respect the relationship John and Bipasha share. Trying to put two and two together doesn’t make sense in this case. They’re very happy together and that’s how things are. Bipasha is like family to me ever since we moved to Mumbai (years ago).”

Bipasha’s Hollywood dream comes to an end

Just few days back there were tabloid reports about Bipasha Basu’s first Hollywood project starring Titanic villain Billy Zane, going on floors. But now news has trickled in that the project is being scrapped. It was supposed to begin shooting on July 25th. It is learnt that producer Smita Thackeray had backed out with reasons being cited as personal and professional. This yet to be titled film was to be directed by David Silverman and was to feature Bipasha in Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft avatar. It was supposed to be shot in Kodaikanal and had actor Rajvirr of Kaise Kahen (2007) fame playing Bipasha’s second love interest.

The film was to have Bipasha doing some intense love making scenes with both Billy and Rajvirr. Rumour mills suggest- the choice of Rajvirr as the male lead wasn’t appreciated but Smita Thackeray was adamant about him playing the role. However now that Smita has backed out from the film, it only means that for now Bipasha’s dream of going international has come to a standstill, at least for now. Though for a long time both Bipasha and her boyfriend John Abraham have been trying to go international, they haven’t succeeded.

Bipasha Basu Simply Flying

Bipasha Basu recently demonstrated her new fitness workout – Jukari Fit to Fly – in an event organised by Cirque de Soleil. Jukari is the Afrikaans name for a reebok, a type of deer and the equipment used for the workout – the Flyset – has been designed by the Reebok sports company. Right now I have just had a small taste of it but yes, when you do an hour-long workout like this, you actually will feel like you are flying. It’s really fun,” Bipasha said There are a lot of women, and some of my friends too, who don’t like to go to the gym and this kind of a workout is great fun because they will get to join a group class and there will be music.

Bipasha, who is currently involved in making the movie Pankh about a young boy who suffers from gender confusion, has spoken openly about the issue of homosexuality that is currently being debated in India. “We are born with certain natural preferences which we can’t deny,” she states, “No one can dictate what is good or bad for a person’s sexual experience. It is an individual choice.Apart than Pankh, Bipasha has a number of other fascinating movies on-stream.I have in my kitty Lamha in which I am essaying the role of a Kashmiri girl and a comedy flick called All the Best.

Apart from these, I am working on Rituparno Ghosh’s Bengali film Shab Choritro Kalpanik and on my first English movie Chimera opposite Billy Zane.”
