Hrithik tried to impress Barbara Mori

Hrithik Roshan is a big actor in Bollywood but he almost failed to induce Maxican stunning actress Barbara Mori to be a part of his film Kites. He however did the trick by giving her the DVDs of his hit films.It is said that Barbara was sceptic when Rakesh Roshan first approached her for Kites. Her fear raised on seeing some of his middling videos on the internet.

However, he acted smart by handing her the DVDs of his films Koi Mil Gaya, Lakshya and Dhoom 2. As expected, she was impressed by his performance in the movie and accepted the offer. Interestingly, the duo bonded like no one else during the shooting of the film.

It was even rumoured that they were more than friends, though they denied having any matter.

Bald Barbara Mori Shocks Hrithik Roshan!

You’ve seen her looking stunning, long shiny hair included, in the promos of ‘Kites’. But did you know that Barbara Mori was bald when ‘Kites’ producer Rakesh Roshan and director Anurag Basu first met her? And this is what she looked like! When the ‘Kites’ team first met Barbara for the story narration in Los Angeles, the actress had just inch long hair as she had gone totally bald for her role in a Spanish film ‘Cosas Insignificantes’ (Insignificant Things).

In the film, her screen son has cancer and is losing hair, so she expresses unity with him this way. Rakesh Roshan admits that when he saw his future heroine with only one inch long hair, he was uncertain to sign her on. “I was shocked,’’ he says. “I asked her how we would shoot with her six months down the line, but she was confident that her hair would grow or else she suggested that she would put on hair extensions.

’’Director Anurag Basu adds, “Barbara looked gorgeous in short hair too. I had an option to have her with short hair in Kites, but in our industry actresses normally don’t have short hair. So later when she came to India, we did some look tests with Barbara in short hair and also with hair extensions and she looked even prettier in long hair.”

Hrithik Roshan’s all apprehensions

Hrithik Roshan is a nervous wreck. He just released the music of his forthcoming film ‘Kites’ and is waiting for feedback on it.He has incidentally sung a song in the film and that is what makes him so anxious.“It’s finally time to face the music! Literally! Yup, I have sung for kites, rather tried to! Idea was to be honest to the grammer so no lip sync!” says Hrithik.

Interestingly he gets embarrassed as people ask him about the song.  He however requests everyone to give the opinions only once they have heard him on a proper CD and not on TV.“I hope I am not judged by telecast sound quality. Please give me your feedback only once you have heard the CD!” he says. His fans are already pouring in with praises though across the net.

Looks like Hrithik is a winner here!

Hrithik throws a bash for mom Pinky Roshan

The Roshans had already celebrated Hrithik’s mom Pinky Roshan’s birthday on October 22, by having a quiet dinner party at a Juhu restaurant, but this time Hrithik Roshan was in a mood for lavish celebration and he threw a big bash for mom Pinky Roshan’s birthday and all the prominent celebs from the Bollywood fraternity were invited including SRK-Gauri, Saif-Bebo, Shilpa-Raj, Genelia, Sonali, Kunal Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar amongst others. The party went on till wee hours.

However, the celebration turned sour when the neighbours who were not apparently not comfortable with loud music informed police and the police showed up at Hrithik’s 8th floor apartment in Plazzo building in Juhu Vile Parle Development (JVPD) at around 2:15 am.

Ghajini maker ropes in Hrithik

Allu Aravind who delivered the biggest hit of 2008, Ghajini, is apparently planning his second Hindi project already. This time he wants to remake his own Telugu blockbuster Magadheera for which he plans to rope in none other than Hrithik Roshan. A little birdie tells me that the filmmaker is planning to approach Roshan and ask him to portray the role played by Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan Teja in the Telugu original.

Now, Allu Aravind’s Magadheera happens to be the costliest Telugu movie ever made with a budget of over Rs 40 crores. Being the first high budget film to be made in the Telugu film industry, Magadheera was released in almost 1200 screens across 14 countries on July 31, 2009. And that’s not all. The movie had collected a sum of Rs 22 crores during its first week run and had a total collection of Rs 47.08 crores.

Will the film do as well in its Hindi version? Will Hrithik be able to pull off an Aamir? Well we can only wait and watch!

Hrithik Roshan offers help to paraplegics

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan was so moved after meeting people affected with paraplegia while researching for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Guzaarish” that he has decided to help them in whatever way he can. Hrithik is playing a paraplegic in “Guzaarish” and met patients to be able to get under the skin of his character. While meetings the patients helped him understand his character better, it also left a deep impact on his mind.

Hrithik is taking his role very seriously and has been reading a lot on paraplegia and watching videos to understand and study their mannerisms and behaviour. In fact, he even visited several people affected by the disease to get a first hand account of their experiences,” said a source close to the actor.The intensive study and frequent interactions with people suffering from the disorder have moved Hrithik to a great extent.

He came across some young, talented people who were left incapacitated due to paraplegia and he immediately decided to do his bit to help them,” added the source. Aishwarya Rai is playing female lead in the film.

Hrithik’s chemistry with Aishwarya

Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Bachchan’s first pairing happened with Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 2 and their sizzling chemistry rocked the box-office. Ashutosh Gowariker’s mega epic Jodhaa Akbar saw them coming back together and taking their chemistry a step further. Now they are back together for the third time with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish and if our unit sources are to be trusted then these Bollywood’s hottest on screen pair displayed amazing rapport when they got shooting together again.

Though Guzaarish went on floors from July 31st, Ash just recently joined them after coming back from Mani Ratnam’s Raavan shoot. Our unit sources reveal, “There was instant chemistry between the two as they caught up with each other after a long time. From their first shot together, they were right on cue. It is learnt that all their shots, which were rather intense, were canned in the first take itself, much to the delight of the director. And as soon as a dramatic scene would be wrapped up, the two would be cracking up about something they said to each other.

It’s their personal rapport that makes their acting seem so effortless on screen,” our source added. Apparently Ash had also brought homemade food for the entire unit and was instrumental in making the sets cosy for everyone.

Hrithik trying to fly Kites in Hollywood?

Is Rakesh Roshan developing cold feet over Kites? That seems to be the case as the industry is rife with rumours surrounding the marketing of Kites. If rumours are to be believed then Rakesh is in doldrums ever since Kites failed to leave a mark on the international audience at the Cannes Film Festival.As per our sources, Roshan senior wanted to give his son Hrithik Roshan an international launch by making Kites in English as well as Hindi.

But he found no takers for Kites at the Cannes, as international buyers were not interested in an Indian film.Basically, that’s because Cannes is mainly a major market for Italian, Korean and French films.Not deterred by his canned experience at Cannes, Roshan senior has moved on and is eyeing Hollywood to sell Kites. Now it’s reported that Roshan Sr. has shouldered the responsibility of striking a deal with Hollywood executives, and allotted 20 days from his schedule for this purpose.

With Kites still on the production floor and such rumours afloat, it surely would be very uncomforting for the Roshans to find an overseas market for the Film.
