Vidya Balan getting engaged to Siddharth?

Vidya Balan and her rumoured boyfriend Siddharth Roy Kapur are said to be thinking of getting engaged.

The actress has been spotted with the head honcho of UTV Motion Pictures on more occasion than one, thereby sparking the rumours that something is indeed brewing between them. The latest was their outing together on the sandy beaches of Goa. The duo was clicked in casual beach wear while holidaying together.

Apparently, Sid and Vid have been friends for some time since he stays in her neighbourhood.

But the couple are wary of being linked together because Siddharth’s divorce from his wife is yet to come through. Naturally, they are likely to play down the reports of their engagement.

Vidya’s spokesperson says just because Vidya is friendly with someone doesn’t mean she will get engaged to him.

We, however, will wait to see how this ‘love story’ unfolds.

Vidya Balan is a Tamilian from Kerala. She is from the Iyer community. She comes from a middleclass family from Palghat, on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Vidya did her schooling from St Antony's School and later on joined St Xavier's College from where she graduated in sociology.

When she was doing her M.A. from Mumbai University, she was offered a role in a Malayalam film titled Chakram with Mohanlal, one of Vidya’s favorite actors. However, the project was shelved mid-way and Vidya had to wait for few more years to make her movie debut.

She made her debut as a model in a Surf Excel advertisement in 1998. She has acted in scores of ad films, most of which were directed by Pradeep Sarkar.











Vidya Balan started work as an actress in the Malayalam movie Chakram, paired against Mohanlal, however the film was abandoned mid-way through production. After making her debut in television advertising as a model for a Surf Excel advertisement in 1998, she proceeded to do over 25 TV ads, (mostly directed by Pradeep Sarkar), followed with a variety of acting stints in music videos (Euphoria, Shubha Mudgal and Pankaj Udhas), Hindi TV soap operas (Hanste Khelte and Hum Paanch) and a Bengali movie, Bhaalo Theko, for which she won the Best Actress Anand Lok Puraskar award in Kolkata. Vidya Balan in ‘The Dirty Picture’

Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, who recently won the Filmfare Best Actress award for her performance in Paa as Amitabh Bachchan's mother, is in for a change. She has been approached to play the role of South Indian sex bomb Silk Smitha.

 

Buzz up!The news is doing the rounds that Ekta Kapoor is making a biopic on Silk Smitha titled The Dirty Picture. The film will focus on the tragic last days of the actress, who entertained the people with her sexy moves. It is reported that Vidya has been approached to play Smitha in the film.

 

Ekta Kapoor said that she waited for almost two years for writer Rajat Arora to complete the script of the film. It is about women empowerment and dark side of stardom and Milan Luthria is directing it.

Vidya Balan in her upcoming movie Ishqiya was required to suck on Arshad Warsi’s thumb suggestively and everytime she sucked on Arshad’s thumb she burst into laughter.

Vidya says, “Fortunately Arshad is a friend. We’ve gotten along well from the time we did Lage Raho Munnabhai together. I don’t know I’d have been able to do a scene like putting my co-star’s finger in the mouth with someone else. That gesture of sucking Arshad’s thumb was so raunchy and sexy, so not me, I couldn’t connect with it all.”

 

Talking about her character Vidya says, “I play this rustic voluptuous woman. All my weight-loss happened after I did this film. I had to looked filled up for this part.

 

In Ishqiya everything from the way I wore my saree to the way I looked at men, was alien to me. The role exposed me to a new way of interpreting a liberated woman. My character in Ishqiya may not know about feminism. But she’s truly liberated.”
