Minissha Lamba was born on 18 January 1985. She is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood movies. Minissha Lamba was born in a Jatt Sikh family of Delhi. Her father was in the hospitality business and this gave her the great chance to travel around the country and meet many people.
She can fluently converse in Hindi, Punjabi, English and French languages. Minissha has appeared in films like Yahaan, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Kidnap and Well Done Abba. Minissha did her schooling from Sherwood Hall and later on moved to Chettinad Vidyashram, both located in Chennai. In 2004, the actress majored in English with honours from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Her mother is also very talented and is a painter. Minissha Lamba's in the beginning wanted to become a journalist. While studying for a degree in Delhi, Minissha Lamba pursued modelling as a hobby and soon became a well-placed model in the Indian modelling industry.
Minissha's early modelling work includes numerous television commercials for companies such as LG, Sony, Titan watches, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, Sunsilk, and many others. The actress has also done a music video titled ‘Tera Suroor’ for the hit music album Aap Ka Suroor by Bollywood singer Himesh Reshammiya. Minissha’s first movie "Yahaan", which was directed by Shoojit Sircar, was released in 2005. Critics praised the flick stating that Minissha’s performance as one of the highlights. In 2008, she acted in Siddharth Anand's film Bachna Ae Haseeno alongwith Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor in the main roles.
Bachna Ae Haseeno was made under Yashraj Films. Her next major role was in the Shyam Benegal film Well Done Abba that was released last year in 2010, and this movie was highly acclaimed at the Cannes Film Festival. Minissha Lamba is presently shooting for Shirish Kunder's upcoming movie “Joker”, in which she will star opposite talented actor Shreyas Talpade. The actress has also posed for Maxim India.
