Vidya Balan first time working with South Indian film industry: Vidya Balan has snubbed the South Indian film industry for quite some time now due to the dud of her first film ‘Chakram’ in Malayalam and the lady moved to the north and started giving hits and won quite some accolades for her performances. Now the actress is ready to fulfill the wishes of her parents and going back to the place where she hails from. Balan is making her return in Santosh Sivan’s film ‘Urmi’, but not as an actress but just in a dance sequence. However, she might just take up a full length role in another Malayalam flick soon.
On the other hand the lady who is known for her acting and no-skin show preference is likely to portray the south siren Silk Smitha in Ekta Kapoor produced, Milan Luthria directed ‘Dirty Picture’. Smitha who was well known for her skin show, well-endowed bosom and thunderous thighs, it is difficult to picture Viday in such a role. But Balan is sticking to her no-skin show and no pelvic-thurst dance for the film, which definitely raises the question how authentic will she be as Silk Smitha who did all those without flinching that Vidya doesn’t. We just hope that the director can make things work for the ‘Dirty Picture’ based only on Vidya’s facial expression.
From South connection the lady is getting back with Abhishek Bachchan for a cameo in Rohan Sippy’s ‘Dum Maaro Dum’. The chemistry that Bachchan and Balan shared in ‘Paa’ has influenced Sippy to cast her in that minuscule role, which requires an actress who has the elegance of a typical Indian looking actress and Vidya fits the bill really well. The lady is surely keeping busy these days and will only work on her own terms.
