This Dussera, I’m a star!: Sonakshi Sinha

Last year, when actor Sonakshi Sinha was celebrating Dussera it was like any other year except for the fact she was shooting for her debut film. This year, she says her world has changed totally.

“This Dussera, my world has changed, and how! Last year, I was like any normal person and this year, I am a star. Now, I’m recognised everywhere I go. People come to me for autographs, or want me at their events.

Suddenly, I don’t have seem to have any free time,” says Sonakshi obviously savouring the pace of her newfound stardom. “It’s a great feeling. I know that I have got something that very few heroines get,” says the actor referring to her debut film Dabaang that has broken all box-office records.

Sonakshi has decided to go off-work just for Dussera. She wants to devote the entire day to be with her family — mom Poonam, dad, star Shatrughan Sinha, and her twin brothers, Luv and Kush.“It’s strictly family time for me today. That means there’s also going to be good food, mithai, lots of banter and fun!" she says.
It’s also one of those days when Sonakshi likes to indulge in some creativity with rangolis.

“I’m not a master at creating rangolis, but it’s something that I’ve been doing as a child. I like making these rangolis with the help of rangoli moulds,” she shares.

The actor is getting ready to get busy with ‘two films after Diwali’ — another film with Arbaaz Khan and one with Sajid Nadiadwala. “I've been told that I have a very Indian face, and therefore, it’ll be easier for me to suit a lot of roles in Bollywood,” she says.

When we remind her that recent adulation has come bundled with a little criticism as well, she ends the chat in typical filmi style, “Abhi thhappad (read: criticism) se darr nahi lagta saab, aur pyaar se bhi nahin.”
