The wax figure of Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan is being especially flown from London’s Madame Tussauds Museum to the one in Hong Kong on popular demand.
The 44-year-old superstar’s life-size replica will be displayed alongside that of Hollywood stars Jackie Chan, Harrison Ford and Johnny Depp in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong for three months at the World Premiere section in the museum until July 21.
“Madame Tussauds Hong Kong has been receiving many more tourists from India in the last two years. While these guests enjoy meeting our unique collection of 100 international celebrities and world leaders, we are delighted to have Khan join our attraction,” Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madam Tussauds Hong Kong and Shanghai said in a statement.
The move to loan SRK’s statue from London has been taken following the success of Amitabh Bachchan’s wax replica last year.
“Following the success of displaying Amitabh Bachchan's wax figure at the attraction last year, we anticipate that Khan will be as popular with the Indian community in Hong Kong and guests visiting from abroad,” Pidgeon added.
