Ashwini Kalsekar

Ashwini Kalsekar is well known to small screen viewers for her witty character as the scheming Jigyaasa in Ekta Kapoor's daily soap Kasamh Se for which she won the ITA award for Best actor in a negative role. Ashwini Kalsekar born in 1970 hails from Nasik in Maharashtra. The actress completed her graduation from Bombay in the year 1991.

Ashwini Kalsekar pursued theatre from 1991-1994 as an understudy. The time period from 1992 till the year 1993 was her memorable one because at that time she was an understudy to famous, refined actress Neena Gupta.

Ashwini in 1996 got a break in Marathi film titled ‘Tula Jhapar La’ where she portrayed the role of a prostitute.

This journey was followed by a number of essential movies in Marathi where she played supporting actress including and the actress than started her television career with daily soaps like Shanti, Anjaane, Siddhant, C.I.D., K.Street Pali Hill, etc.

Recently, the actress was seen in Ram Gopal Varma’s Bollywood film Phoonk where she portrayed a negative role. She has also acted in films like All The Best: Fun Begins, Golmaal Returns, Johnny Gaddar, Musafir, Apaharan,etc.
